HYALUBRIX is a sterile, apyrogenic, viscoelastic solution produced with sodium hyaluronate, obtained by bacterial fermentation from a high molecular weight fraction (>1500 kDa).
Hyaluronic acid, a polysaccharide of the glycosaminoglycan family, is naturally present in many human tissues such as cartilage and synovial fluid: it is continuously secreted into the joint cavity and represents the main component of synovial fluid, providing its characteristic viscosity and elasticity.
These properties are fundamental for the fluid to perform the functions of lubricant and shock absorber in normal joints, in order to protect cartilage and soft tissues from mechanical damage.
In traumatic and degenerative joint diseases, the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases and the synovial fluid loses viscosity, causing a compromise in function and painful symptoms.
Many studies indicate that the administration of hyaluronic acid via intra-articular injection can restore the viscoelastic properties of the synovial fluid, resulting in reduced pain and improved joint mobility.
Main Component Composition: sodium hyaluronate 1.5%.
Other components: sodium chloride, dibasic sodium phosphate.12H2O, monobasic sodium phosphate.2H2O, water for injectables.
Indications HYALUBRIX
is a temporary substitute for synovial fluid for patients with degenerative or mechanical arthropathy, causing an alteration of the functionality of synovial fluid, without active synovitis.
Doses and methods of use
Inject HYALUBRIX, using a suitable sterile needle, into the injured joint at weekly intervals for a total of 3 weeks.
